Google AI Edge Gallery

Google AI Edge Gallery is a free and open source app developed by Google that allows you to use different generative AI models locally, directly from your Android device. You won't need an Internet connection. Once you have downloaded any of the many LLMs available on the app, you can use it offline, directly from your device.

Download from Hugging Face or import your own models

Before using Google AI Edge Gallery offline you'll have to download and install an LLM. Luckily, the app is integrated with Hugging Face, allowing you to browse hundreds of models and download them at high speed. To do so, you'll need a user account. This is because you need to be logged in in order to download any LLM from Hugging Face. The alternative is importing your own LLM. If you already have an AI model downloaded to your Android device, simply import it and you can start using it in a few minutes.

Ask questions about any image

With Google AI Edge Gallery you can take a picture and upload it directly to the model you have selected (Gemma-3n-E2B-it-int4, Gemma-3n-E4B-it-int4, etc.). When you upload an image in this way you will be able to ask any questions. Of course, you can ask it to identify what is in the image, but also ask for descriptions or even solve problems. If, for example, you take a picture of a restaurant bill, you can ask it to tell you how much you have to pay if you have only had a drink and a pizza. You can even take a picture of a math problem and ask it for the solution.

Summaries, code and much more

The Prompt Lab tab offers access to a few models specially designed for this type of task. Here you can paste large blocks of text and ask for summaries, but you can also ask the AI to write some code for you (in different languages). Another interesting tool allows you to paste a fragment of text and request it to be rewritten. By doing this, you can choose between several different writing tones: formal, serious, corporate, and so on.

Local AI Chatbot

Google AI Edge Gallery also allows you to enjoy AI chats locally. Almost all users will have already used this type of tool at one time or another, so they will know exactly what to expect. You can have fluent conversations with the LLM you have downloaded. You can ask for advice when it comes to preparing dinner or ask for help with brainstorming. You can talk about anything you like. Maybe you'd like suggestions on new gym routines. Or maybe you need help interpreting a recurring dream. Whatever it is, you can tell your Chatbot and get an answer.
